Dead Cell

A special anti-terrorist unit established by Solidus Snake during his presidency. The group answers directly to the US President, but it is an arm of the US Navy SEALs. The organization's initial role was to carry out surprise assaults on ally bases as part of anti-terrorism training.

However, its leader, Captain Jackson, was incarcerated on charges of corruption and later died in prison. This led to Dead Cell becoming a rogue unit that began to assassinate civilians as well as military personnel.

The US military became concerned by its activities, and in 2008, they set in place a trap aimed at eliminating Dead Cell.

Dead Cell Survivors, Fortune, Vamp, and Fatman took part in a revolt under a new group called the Sons of Liberty, headed by Solidus Snake.
