Rat Patrol Team 01

An investigative unit of the PMC internal inspection organization under the CID (Criminal Investigation Command). Acting on information concerning Liquid Ocelot's uprising obtained by US Army Special Operations Command, it investigated the situation and provided informational support to Solid Snake, who was dispatched by the UN on a similar investigative mission. Its members display the FOXHOUND insignia on their breast during missions to conceal their true affiliation.

Led by Meryl, the four-member team consists of sub-leader Ed, Jonathan, and Johnny (Akiba).

The Sons of the Patriots System allows the unit to act as one at all times. With the exception of Johnny, their cerebral nanomachines also enable them to quickly regain their composure immediately after moments of emotional stress.
