Stems from the SS-1A (R-1), which was developed during the Second World War as a copy of the German V-2 rocket, and expands on the SS-1B (R-2), developed by the Makeyev design bureau in 1957. A traveling ballistic missile system, fires missiles from a mobile platform. Consists of a combined transporter-erector-launcher. Travels by road and erects and launches the missile on the spot.
