PAN

Personal Area Network. A system that transfers data by passing minute electric currents using the salt that flows in the human body as a transmission medium. Major computing firms are carrying out research aimed at putting PANs into practical use.

Authentication system used in ultramodern bases and buildings, such as the Shadow Moses Island Base and Big Shell. When a keycard is carried anywhere on that person, doors unlock automatically via PAN.
