The only way to counteract FOXDIE in a target is to obtain a serum that makes the target's body unreceptive to the virus. The terrorist group Sons of Big Boss used their newly acquired ability to launch a nuclear weapon as a bargaining chip to demand the FOXDIE serum from the US government.
It is unclear whether or not the serum ever actually existed.
