The Patriots

Both the notion of twelve elderly constituents who had all died a century ago was a fabrication. In truth, everything began when former FOX Unit Commander Zero acquired the Philosophers' Legacy.

With the massive capital he had secured, Zero took control of the American military using the FOX Unit as its leader.

He and a cadre of collaborators took the name "the Patriots", and attempted to dominate and control the world using Big Boss as a charismatic leader figure.

The initial membership included Revolver Ocelot, Sigint, Para-Medic, and EVA.

The Patriots pushed forward a plan to create copies of their frontman Big Boss, the Les Enfants Terribles Project, in order to expand their influence.

Big Boss objected, however, and left the Patriots.
